Better Drowning 1.16.5 modification is a tweaks to improve underwater mechanics! Some of the tweaks will remain relevant after the release of the 1.16 version of the game, because some of the bugs and flaws exist since the 1.14 version.

With the mod, the deeper you are, the more damage you will get when the player runs out of oxygen; visibility will improve slightly at each depth level; the player will get a feature to instantly restore the oxygen level after surfacing; and last, the mod will fix a bug with too many oxygen points!

How to install Better Drowning

  1. Download and install Forge
  2. Install Bookshelf
  3. Make sure that you have the “Java” application installed.
  4. Download the “Zip” archive from our website.
  5. Inside this is a “Jar” mod. It can also contain old and new builds.
  6. Select the latest version of the “Jar” file that matches the game version.
  7. Please note that some releases may contain bugs, incompatibilities with other modifications, and in some cases may cause conflicts within Forge or Fabric. You can try installing the previous build to fix this.
  8. Move the “Jar” file to the “Mods” folder.
  9. This folder is located at the following path:

    Mac OS X:
    /Users/Your Profile Name/Library/Application Support/minecraft/
    Quick way to get there: Click on the desktop and then press the combination of “Command+Shift+G” keys at the same time.
    Type ~/Library and press the “Enter” key.
    Open the Application Support folder and then Minecraft

    Windows 11, 10, 8, 7:
    C:\Users\Your Profile Name\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\
    Quick way to get there: Press the “Windows” key and the “R” key at the same time.
    Type %appdata% and press “Enter” key or click OK.

  10. The “Mods” folder is created automatically when you install Forge or Fabric, but you can always create it manually.
  11. Open the launcher and select the desired modloader.
  12. Launch the game and enjoy the new gameplay.
  13. Ready!
